Ajuoga Baas is the chief wendifa and ruler of the town of Ngozu on the Mgange Cove island in the Shackles. Residents of the town are loyal devotees of the ancient Mwangi faith of juju, a religion committed to congress with the spirit world of wendo. Ajuoga Baas is dedicated primarily to the greater wendo spirit Mfuello the Journeyer and has two subordinates: Mosi One-Knife and Xabasu. One of the three wendifa conducts communal juju rituals each night. Ben kudu (non-believers) caught witnessing a ritual are severely punished.
