Aysepir's Astounded Abyss is a carnival show of unusual, and often disturbing, beings in the Puddles district of Absalom. Despite having the trappings of fiction and making extraordinary claims, its employees are exactly what they are presented to be—beings of sometimes immense power afflicted by curses or misfortune, or simply being of unique parentage.12

History

The Abyss was founded by its namesake, the Ulfen explorer Aysepir Dragon-Skin, generations ago. As it has since its founding, the Abyss is promoted as a glimpse into the Outer Rifts on Golarion, although few (if any) of its attractions have any true connection to the plane of demons.1

Members

As of 4720 AR and since at least 4708 AR, the Abyss was owned and operated by Fish-Head Queen, a mermaid cursed to have her fish and humanoid features reversed from a typical mermaid. As the exhibition's manager, she attempts to protect and support her vulnerable employees, but also often turns a blind eye to any crimes they commit outside of the carnival's grounds.12

Other employee/attractions include:

Among the Abyss' former performers is the famed Minotaur Prince of Absalom, Nuar Spiritskin, who as of 4720 AR also remained an active patron of the show.6

Sites

The carnival is a collection of patched, mucky tents and ramshackle huts in the Puddles. Entry costs a few copper pieces.1
