• The Knights of Lastwall hold the soot-stained city of Vellumis against hordes of undead and use it as the locus of evacuation efforts.

• The Varisian town of Sandpoint fills in the sinkhole near the Sandpoint Garrison that opened in 4707 AR.
• The Maze of the Open Road gains a connection to the First World after receiving a surge of primal magic.

4720 AR in organizations

• The Pathfinder Society helps convert Fort Agate, a fortress near Xer in Razmiran, into the Exalted Lodge, the nation's first Pathfinder lodge.
• Following the defeat of Qxal, the Pathfinder Society opens the Open Road Lodge north-northeast of Nagisa in the Mwangi Expanse.
  • Venture-Captain Oraiah Tolal leaves Ashfall Lodge in Tamran, Nirmathas, to help found the Open Road Lodge. She continues traveling Golarion afterward.
• Baloku Ulameni assumes the position of venture-captain at the Pathfinder Society's Nantambu Lodge, taking over from acting Venture-Captain Aya Allahe.
• The Pathfinder Society establishes a base camp at the ruins of the ancient Koloran city of Min-Khadaim, located near the western Finadar Forest of Iobaria.
• Kukuha Mukai, protégé of Amara Li, establishes a Pathfinder lodge on Three Gates Island in northwestern Minkai.

• In Kibwe, Tomil Jabrin unleashes a curse known as the slithering in a plot to assassinate that city's leaders.
• The playwright Fallenta Sumac d'Venenoux departs Absalom for recently liberated Kintargo.
• Fleeing the Bloody Barbers, Romi Bracken stows away on a ship to Talmandor's Bounty and begins a new life as a scavenger.

4720 AR in politics

• Wynsal Starborn is stripped of his position as Acting Primarch and imprisoned on false charges of murder and first-degree larceny. Olansa Terimor is named Acting Primarch. He is later rescued from the Black Whale prison and cleared of all charges, and Terimor is implicated in framing Starborn and stripped of her position. Starborn is then quickly reinstated as Acting Primarch.
• Geb returns to more active management of his nation, turning his eye toward Nex. He elevates the Warmaster Council in Yled as his military commanders.
• Azaersi, ruler of Oprak, establishes diplomatic relations with the Pathfinder Society.
• Mengkare is removed from Promise by a convocation of dragons purporting to represent Otilaz, the draconic deity of death. This leaves the island of Hermea without a ruler.
• 23 Kuthona: The Taldan colony of Amanandar in Tian Xia declares independence and re-establishes itself as the nation of Linvarre.

Deaths in 4720 AR

• Avsheros the Betrayer is killed by agents of the city of Absalom.
• Harlo Doleen is killed while investigating the disappearance of the giant excavation machine called Graveraker.

Miscellaneous

• This year is a leap year according to the Absalom Reckoning calendar, with an extra day added to the end of the month of Calistril.
• In the Imperial Calendar, this year is designated as 7220 IC.
• After being skipped for the first time in 4620 AR, the 31st centennial Radiant Festival occurs this summer in the newly renovated Precipice Quarter.
  • Beldrin's Tower is refurbished in preparation for the Radiant Festival.
• The fourth Vaunter's Carnival takes place in Anthusis.
• At the end of the most recent Gathering Council, the public revelation of the project to build Torag's Shield occurs, leading to this being one of the greatest Gathering Festivals in centuries.
• The Ambrosia, a ship built in Sea King Shipyards of Absalom, mysteriously returns on its own to Absalom from a planned journey around the horn of Southern Garund. Its crew is missing, and nothing aboard the ship suggests what their fate was or how the ship returned to port without its crew.
