Campfire chroniclers are followers of a tradition of Sarkorian storytelling that originated with Isthralei, a Sarkorian god dedicated to protecting and assisting travelers in return for a story of their journey.

Primarily associated with the Academy of the Reclamation in Nerosyan, Mendev, campfire chroniclers' abilities revolved around making offerings of stories to Isthralei. In return, they received various blessings, such as improved defenses, the ability to strike with divine fire, or concealment in shadow. Some campfire chroniclers received a measure of divine magic, as though they were clerics of Isthralei, though they did not gain all of a cleric's abilities.1
