The Cangarit tribe is one several centaur tribes living on the Isle of Kortos and is ruled by the warrior-princess Nashota Bloodhoof. Although remote, the tribe was recently embroiled in a conflict with Absalom.

The tribe currently resides in the foothills of the Kortos Mounts since being steadily forced there by violent confrontations with mercenaries and hunters from Absalom. The cause of this conflict occurred in 4709 AR when the Rathangut tribe began attacking travelers in a foolish bid to claim the entire island. Reprisals from Absalom failed to distinguish between the different centaur tribes leading to an escalation in the conflict, the hides of innocent centaurs being taken for bounty, and resulting in the death of a member of the wealthy Otheron family of Absalom by Nashota Bloodhoof herself.

The conflict was finally resolved in 4711 AR when the Pathfinder Society brokered a peace accord between the Otheron family and the Cangarit tribe. In exchange, Nashota Bloodhoof was convinced by the Decemvirate to represent their organisation in the upcoming Ruby Phoenix Tournament.1
