Engineering
Engineering is the creative application of scientific principles to design or develop structures, machines, apparatus, or manufacturing processes, for instance in the creation of buildings, aqueducts, bridges, siege engines, or fortifications.1 A practitioner of engineering is called an engineer.2
The practice of engineering
In addition to its core use in design and construction, engineering can be used to:3
- Identify dangerous constructions
- Determine a structure's style or age
- Determine a structure's weaknesses, for instance the propensity for a ceiling to collapse4
Engineering organizations
- The Clockwork Cathedral in Absalom's Merchants' Quarter teaches mechanical engineering with a focus on clockwork creations and constructs.5

Engineering and religion
Part of Aroden's legacy is his holy text, The History and Future of Humanity, in which one of the sections is a treatise on engineering.6
Followers of Brigh have particular interests in technology and engineering.7
