Gao Bie

Gao Bie (pronounced gau-bier),¹ also spelled Gau Bie, is a large town in the Sun Shogunate of Songbai²³⁴ that serves as a waystation for land and river trade routes. Its name is derived from the Tien phrase for "goodbye".⁴

During peacetime Gao Bie hosts traders and furloughed soldiers, and the town's lack of security despite its strategic location also draws criminals and adventurers.⁴

Cuisine

Its inns serve the town's renowned gaobiejiu sorghum liquor with meats fried in peppercorns.⁴
