The Thundering Eclipse is a group of tengu bandits who have ravaged the rural heartlands of Songbai1 just west of the foothills of the Gossamer Mountains. The Thundering Eclipse is led by a petty warlord called Kwankhonu, a tengu cavalier with lofty goals and few scruples.2
Mounted on his trusty axe beak companion,3 in the wake of Imperial Lung Wa's collapse and the chaos that followed, Kwankhonu dreamed of creating his own nation in the territories of Songbai. He was beaten to this goal by Shokuro Akatori, who succeeded in uniting the kingdom. His dreams thwarted, Kwankhonu now views himself as a warlord and the Thundering Eclipse as his loyal army. In reality, the Thundering Eclipse is little more than just another bandit gang that grows bolder which each village they sack.2 The Thundering Eclipse does boast a unique warbeast, a barely trained Shokuran owlbear.3
