Glorymane, or Guardian as it prefers to be known by those with whom it is less familiar, is an intelligent lion's shield and former construct who previously served as a librarian and historian of the Lion Blades at the secret Library of the Lion within the Kitharodian Academy of Oppara, Taldor.

Glorymane began its existence as an intelligent lion-headed construct built into the walls of the Library of the Lion when it was first constructed millennia ago. It served as a repository of historical knowledge since, though it tended to embellish or misstate specific details and dates, and also catalogued the library's holdings.

In 4713 AR, it was dissatisfied with the cruel treatment of the library's administrator, who had forbade students and visitors from speaking with it. In response, Glorymane collaborated with a group of Pathfinders seeking information beneficial to the Fifth Mendevian Crusade, who transferred him into a lion's shield and escaped.
