Ikelek

From PathfinderWiki

Ikeleks are a lizardfolk ancestry that lives in eastern Avistan and are similar to, but distinct from, the more populous Essaris.1

Appearance

Ikeleks resemble Essaris, which is the lizardfolk ethnicity most Avistanis imagine when they imagine a lizardfolk. Instead of dorsal fins, Ikeleks normally have either spiky dorsal spines or nothing at all. Their scales also tend to be even duller than Essari colouration, normally tending toward browns, grays, and dull greens, with a pebbled texture. They prefer glass in their structures and creations more than the bone heavily used by other lizardfolk.1

Society

Ikeleks are much less widespread than their Essari neighbors and most live in the waterways and forests around the Broken Lands and Shining Kingdoms. Many Ikelek tribes have had to deal with the pollutants and monstrosities that have leaked from the Eye of Dread. They focus more on nature worship, with druids common amongst their tribes as is worship of Gozreh and other nature-related deities. Some isolated tribes, particularly within the River Kingdoms, have fallen to worship of other more sinister entities such as demons.1

Ikeleks use bone less often in their arts and crafts than Essaris, and instead favour beautiful coloured glass using sand that they acquire through trade with the lizardfolk known as Sand Brethren who dwell even further east in the deserts of Casmaron.1
