General Istore Harchist was a leader in the Lastwall military in the 43rd-century AR. Her legacy includes the eponymous defensive line of fortifications she constructed between 4235 AR and 4237 AR which stood as Lastwall's northern border against the Hold of Belkzen from the fall of the Sunwall in 4237 AR to 4482 AR. The line of fortifications were named by Lastwall as Harchist's Blockade in her honor.1

Relatives

In 4236 AR, Harchist ordered the construction of Fort Morrine, the key fortification of her blockade, at the Rake Island Bridge on the southern banks of the River Esk's most accessible crossing. She named the fort after her mother, who had died during an orc raid when Harchist was a child. In 4237 AR, in the weeks after the Battle of Lost Hope had destroyed the bridge and fort, the herald of Iomedae declared the site sacred ground, and it has been continuously defended by a paladin of Iomedae since.2

Background

In 4235 AR, Harchist reported warnings of an imminent orc invasion along the River Esk. After her superiors ignored her warnings, she used the troops under her command to begin fortifying the river's southern banks with walls and palisades under the guise of performing military exercises. When the orc invasion overran the Sunwall in 4237 AR, Lastwall's government reinforced the defences and renamed them in Harchist's honor.1
