Lady Lang Loi has been the ruler of Shenmen since her jorogumo minions took over the land in 4607 AR. She dwells in Yin-Sichasi, an underground city populated by thousands of her slaves.

Some believe that her particular ire for wizards and clericss is due to her believe than an educated populace would be capable of toppling her empire one day. The rough roads and unpaved paths in Shenmen are attributed to this same thought, making it much more difficult for any citizens to communicate and move between settlements. Because of her outward behavior and lack of care for Shenmen, she is widely seen as completely self-interested, looking only to gain more wealth and enjoy luxuries that most of Shenmen could never dream of having.
