Paizo used mariliths as depicted in the Pathfinder campaign setting from another game under the terms of the Open Game License. Since changing licenses in the Pathfinder Second Edition Remaster Project, they cannot be referenced in new canon works.

A Voice in the Blight 82 introduces vansidieths as "pride demons", presumably replacing mariliths. Vansidieths have different Pathfinder Second Edition mechanics (including a higher level), appearance, and abilities, but are described as "demonic generals", a role previously described as being filled by mariliths. Imvath demons, also introduced in A Voice in the Blight 81, are also described as "generals among demonic armies". -Oznogon (talk) 21:43, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
