Missing Moment
The Missing Moment was a paranormal event on 21 Erastus 4722 AR in which an unknown number of people entered strangely behaving aiudara. Many never return, and those who do are physically marked and changed by the experience. Those affected become known as gatewalkers.1
Description
On 21 Erastus, countless aiudara emitted a bright glow enticing any witnesses with illusions of their greatest desire. Of those who entered the portals, many never returned; most who did lose days or months of time and bore a brand on their flesh in the shape of a mountaintop gate with four stars above.1
Aftermath
On 23 Lamashan, several months after the Missing Moment, Dr. Etward Ritalson invites gatewalkers from around the world to his manor in Lepidstadt, Ustalav. He establishes the Doctor’s Illuminated Consortium of Epopts, a small organization of gatewalkers, to investigate the cause of the Missing Moment.1
