Quintessivores are predators of souls who eviscerate creatures in both mind and spirit in order to consume their quintessence.

Appearance

A quintessivore's limbs are jointed and spindly as a spiders but end in long, sharply pointed claws that it nimbly wields. Its abdomen also resembles a spider's or insect's, but its head is an abomination of eyes, spines, and teeth.

Abilities

The sharp claws of a quintessivore are capable of tearing apart a creature's soul from its body, a process that takes an hour and can begin no more than two after the prey's death. Sating its hunger in such a manner empowers it, and the consumed soul becomes integrated into the quintessivore's bladed legs.

Destroying a quintessivore releases its amalgamated soul in the form of pure quintessence that retains enough of its consumed souls' properties to re-bind them into existence.
