The resurrection spell can resurrect a single dead creature and restore it to its complete natural strength. It can resurrect a creature from any portion of the remains that belonged to it at its time of death, including disintegrated remains, and can work on creatures that have been dead for more than a decade or an undead being that has been destroyed.1[citation needed]
The target's soul must be willing and free to return from the afterlife, and the spell can be cast only on a corpse that formerly possessed a soul; constructs, elementals, outsiders, and intact undead cannot be raised.2[citation needed]
