Round Mountain is an earthen sphere 10 miles in diameter1 that was dropped onto western Po Li in 7219 IC. It was formerly part of the Hao Jin Tapestry, where it was transported centuries ago from the Darklands of Tian Xia by Hao Jin to halt an invasion of the region by the ratfolk of Diguo-Dashu.23

History

In 6751 IC, the ratfolk of Diguo-Dashu conquered more than a dozen cities before being repelled by Lung Wa's formidable armies. They were permanently pacified by the legendary sorceress Hao Jin,4567 who transported the ratfolk army—and a spherical section of the surrounding underground depths 10 miles in diameter of the Sekamina layer18—into her personal demiplanar tapestry.78

The excavated ground became known as Old Rat's Stolen Heart,9 and the sphere became known as Round Mountain.12 Hao Jin eventually returned Round Mountain to the site of Old Rat's Stolen Heart in modern-day southwestern Po Li in 7219 IC.8210 The Pathfinder Society aided in evacuating the ratfolk residents of Big Ticker, which was destroyed by the return of the mountain and is now known as Broken Ticker.10 They and the people of the restored Round Mountain then began building Second Ticker.8

Though the new site attracts intrigue, supplies and old trade routes that relied on Big Ticker were destroyed, and the ratfolk have since sought aid from Hao Jin, who in turn seeks agents in her stead out of fears that her legendary status would cause the people to push back if she made decisions on their behalf.8 Guxiya of Diguo-Dashu has also sent scouting agents to the surface to further investigate these distant relatives, as have Hao Jin, the Pathfinder Society, and the Aspis Consortium.2
