Skywatch Observatory
The Skywatch Observatory is a marble observatory at the center of Skywatch, an abandoned city in Brevoy atop a mountain in the Icerime Peaks.12 It was built on the ley line that runs beneath the city by Erutaki stargazers who had traveled from the Crown of the World in the indeterminate past and was abandoned long before House Surtova founded the original settlement of Skywatch around it.2
Appearance
The observatory is a windowless marble hemisphere 150 feet wide. It contains a 100-foot-long telescope positioned on a dais at its center that extends skyward through a rectangular slit five feet wide in its domed ceiling.3
History
The observatory long predates Skywatch and is older than any known settlement in the region. Its purpose remains a mystery. The ancient structure was obviously built to accommodate beings much larger than humans, and it has been preserved through the ages by powerful magic.1
