According to Strong-Arm Hix, the Spindrift Reaver landed on one of the Cannibal Isles in the Shackles. The crew were captured by kuru cannibals and eaten as sacrifices to a deity the kuru called the Blood Queen.

Hix was the only person to escape and lost both his legs in the process.
