Talk:Ascension Day/Conflicts

From PathfinderWiki

There is a conflict between Ascendance Day and Ascension Day. According to the ISWG, p. 249, the holiday celebrating the apotheosis for both Iomedae and Cayden Cailean is called the same thing: Ascendance Day. On p. 30 of Faiths of Purity, Cayden's holiday (which takes place on 11 Kuthona) is known as Ascension Day, while Iomedae's holiday (on 6 Lamashan) is Ascendance Day. In Children of the Void (which contains the article on Cayden), it's called Ascension Day as well. To complicate matters, the same holiday for Norgorber (on 2 Desnus) is also Ascendance Day in both the ISWG and Faiths of Corruption (p. 30), and Inner Sea Gods seems to copy the original article from Children of the Void and call Cayden's holiday Ascension and Iomedae's "Ascendance". So what do we call them all? ISWG is the highest-tier source, so my inclination would be to call them all the same thing (Ascendance Day), and ignore everything else, but then again, Inner Sea Gods is now the definitive source on the gods. The other option is that we keep both names for the Cayden holiday and just one for the ones for Iomedae and Norgorber. --Brandingopportunity (talk) 16:57, 20 August 2015 (UTC)
