Talk:Azghat

From PathfinderWiki

It doesn't explicitly say so in the text, so I won't add it to the article, but I'm reasonably sure the Azghat myth refers to the Runelords of Thassilon.--Filby 21:04, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I'd say so too, especially since p. 74 of Burnt Offerings says so specifically. :) --Brandingopportunity 04:53, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Oy *facepalm* I hadn't read it in a while and I was going by memory. Well, there ya go.--Filby 05:45, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Seriously, no worries. There are so many details in Paizo pubs, it's hard to keep track of them all, not to mention the ones that contradict themselves. --Brandingopportunity 06:19, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
*facepalm* indeed. At least Filby had a memory of this fact, whereas I had totally forgotten the (once seen glaringly obvious) connection. This is the danger of going back to old notes to fill in gaps without context. Thanks Brandingopportunity for quickly filling in the huge hole I'd dug. Actually then I think we should lose the deity sidebar as it now adds nothing, except possible confusion (I'll do that now). Removal from the Portal and Template is a step too far though as they were genuinely believed to be gods by a culture and the text (now) makes the truth clear - agreed? --Fleanetha 10:51, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
That's why I try to get all of the PDFs onto one computer, you can use adobe to search all of the PDFs in a particular folder, and when I write an article, I tend to search for all instances for the PDFs I have downloaded. (I relize not everyone can do this, but if it helps one, its worth mentioning). -- Cpt kirstov 13:03, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Amazing - I never knew you could do that and it works (Advanced Search from the Edit bar?) on my PC. I shall have to unzip loads of files and store sensibly first (as I do not think it can see into zipped files) but that is a great help to me Cpt kirstov - thanks. --Fleanetha 15:06, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
it depends on the version of adobe reader: the one on my work computer here I do Edit >search which brings up a new window with radio button options of "Whould you like to search in 1) the current PDF 2) all PDFs in the folder:" and a browse bar to select a folder -- Cpt kirstov 15:11, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

Article

Does this subject even deserve an article of its own, or can this article (and its contents) just be merged into the runelords one? - HTD (talk) 01:17, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

Per Project:Point of view and the exceptional nature of its treatment in some sources (such as Inner Sea Races describing the Azghat without mentioning any connection to the runelords), I think it warrants its own article, a see-also link to Runelords, and a summary and link back from Runelords. I've also expanded it with information from additional sources released since 2011. -Oznogon (talk) 03:59, 13 January 2019 (UTC)

Deity status

At this point, regardless of whether they actually deserve an article or not, it should be obvious that the Azghat (as described in the article) are not actually divine beings that can have clerics, so this article's deity navbox should likely be replaced by the philosophy navbox, following the example of Eternal Emperor. I'll assume if there's no comment in the next week that it is acceptable to proceed with the change. - HTD (talk) 08:43, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
