Rage of Elements

Much of RoE is unincorporated. Elemental cycle may need either a page, or to redirect to Element. I'm also not sure if the cycle should framed exclusively as associated with the Successor States (or with "Tian Xia" at large?), as RoE's diegetic author Aziza Amani al-Fasih seems to present the elemental cycle as a universal fact; what does RoE say about the knowledge of other mages and scholars, from other nations and other planes?

The elemental philosophies of the Successor States of Tian Xia are a great contrast

Why is "philosophies" plural in this sentence? Are there multiple elemental cycle philosophies?

1

  • Most of Golarion’s knowledge of the elemental cycle comes from the holy scriptures of the Tian deity Qi Zhong.
  • a small few kineticists have been tapping gates to these planes for a long time, especially those from Tian Xia who had the tools to understand the powers of metal and wood. (page 11)
  • The largest recognized population of taloses can be found in Tian Xia, where metal is a commonly understood element (page 51)
  • Most elementalists embrace either the philosophy of four elements common in the Inner Sea or the five-element cycle prevalent in Tian Xia. (pg 58)
  • In Tian Xia, mortal elementalists believe in a cycle of five elements eternally feeding into each other: fire, wood, metal, water, and earth. (page 63)
  • The elementalists of Tian Xia see fire’s place in their eternal Elemental Cycle as (pg 111)
  • The largest number of [taloses], and also the largest number whose true nature is known, inhabit Tian Xia. The traditions of metal as an element have lived much longer there. (pg 163)

What evidence can we find of the five-element philosophy in Tian areas other than just the Successor States? Or in realms/planes outside of Tian Xia?

The PFWiki's elemental cycle information should also note how air complements the five-element cycle:

Air, though not mentioned in the feeding and countering mechanism, is still integral. When energy from elements of the cycle mix and take on a non-solid form, that becomes air.1

On Elemental cycle, also assume some articles like elemental medicine in Tian Xia Character Guide may elaborate a little more on the Successor States use of the cycle, like how they are precent in living creatures? --Stejo (talk) 20:25, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
Also could add the pages refrences to Meta: unincorporated sources. I think it would be helpful for future editors if we don't manage to add everything. --Stejo (talk) 20:29, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
