Talk:Harrow Deck (game aid)

From PathfinderWiki

The Pathfinder Chronicles Harrow Deck product consists of the cardboard deck box, the 54 Harrow cards, 5 divination reference cards (which includes 1 reference card that has the meaning of the symbols, 3 blank Harrowing Chronicle cards for in-game use, and 1 sample Harrowing Chronicle card demonstrating their use), 1 card that prints the Open Game License, and the 30-page booklet "Pathfinder Chronicles Harrow Divination Book".

Aeakett made a citation template (thanks!), but I'd like to clarify how we should cite this product. For Harrow deck, I cited "p. Back cover", which should refer to the back of the cardboard box the deck came in. For Harrowing, I cited "p. 9-10" and listed as the source "Harrow Divination Book p. 9-10", both of which should refer to the 30-page booklet that came with the deck. --Goblin Witchlord 05:33, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

I don't think we have to worry too much about citing exactly with this product. It's so small that even with vague "page" references, somebody should be able to figure out what you're talking about without too much trouble. To use your "Back cover" example, that's going to refer to either the back of the box, or the back of the booklet, and checking both if need be isn't too much trouble. This product is such a special case that I don't think we should spend too much time worrying about the details right now (which seems to be becoming my new mantra). --Aeakett 12:27, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
And a very good mantra it is! After this current wave of new material is added on the subject, I don't expect we'll see much more on the Harrow for some time. Paizo has used it as a central element in an AP and I expect they'll shy from it for quite a while so they don't overdo it. So I don't think we're ever going to have dozens of sources on the subject all cited on one page. Right now, I think there are four sources relative to Harrow: the deck itself, the Harrow article in Edge of Anarchy, the Harrow Deck of Many Things article in Crown of Fangs, and the PrC and brief mentions throughout the Campaign Setting. That one of these sources isn't really a book is not such a huge deal. -- yoda8myhead 17:46, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
