Talk:Karakuru/Conflicts
Position
Published sources conflict on the position of Karakuru relative to the Porthmos River and World's Edge Mountains foothills.
- The Inner Sea World Guide 184 and Inner Sea Poster Map Folio place Karakuru on a westerly bend of the Porthmos River, south of the river's confluence with an unnamed tributary that flows east and then south from the World's Edge Mountains. Karakuru is due south of Antios's Crown, west of Sardis Township, and north of Elsekulp.
- Taldor, the First Empire inside front cover places Karakuru on the northern tributary near its source. Karakuru is west/northwest of the Porthmos Gap, near and due south of Kravenkus, and due east of Antios's Crown.
By measurement on the wiki's map, the distance between the two locations is about 100 miles, so the conflict is not trivial.
The text of Taldor, the First Empire places it in Porthmos Prefecture but isn't specific enough to specify which position is correct, and both positions are within the prefecture's borders. The abstract maps of Taldor in the War for the Crown Pathfinder Adventure Path don't include Karakuru. World Guide 121 and its poster map don't include Karakuru, and the northern tributary's path is significantly different.
ISWG is the higher-tier source and used on the map, but this conflict might not be resolvable without a canon clarification or newer published source. -Oznogon (talk) 19:45, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
