The Frozen Fingers of Midnight 11 describes Natalya Yagevna as a member of "a minor aristocratic family in Irrisen" and "ice witch" who "was given in marriage to Haldyr as a political strategy".

Lost Treasures 19 describes her as a low-ranking White Witch member of the Frost Floe Coven who fled in exile with the Beacon of the North after Queen Elvanna ordered the coven's execution. She is then described as having joined Bjornsson's longship crew before becoming his wife.
