Adherers are monstrous humanoid creatures descended from experiments conducted on humans who were infused with the substance of the Ethereal Plane.1
On Golarion
Adherers have been dispersed in a few places around Golarion due to the ether cyclone wherever the barrier between the planes is thin. These include: among the shamanic mounts of Arcadia; the furthest edges of the Mana Wastes; in various places of power throughout Vudra and Casmaron; and a few in Osirion where they were mistaken for mummies.2 This is a common mistake, as they resemble mummies wrapped in dirty linens right up until they are engaged in combat. Only then does it become clear that they are a different creature entirely.34
