Consecrate
This article covers a topic relevant to Pathfinder Second Edition. For the First Edition equivalents, see consecrate (spell) and desecrate. |
Consecrate is a ritual that consecrates a site to the spellcaster's deity, which imbues it with that deity's nature. Worshipers of that deity gain benefits while in a consecrated area, while beings anathematic to the deity are disadvantaged. If a deity allows for it, the spellcaster can also sanctify a consecrated site as holy or unholy, and that nature is then imbued in any attacks by that deity's worshipers within the area.12
The ritual affects a 40-foot area around a stationary object, such as an altar or shrine, of the spellcaster's deity. It requires three spellcasters and lasts for a year. The ritual can be further empowered to act as a planar seal against beings who do not worship the consecrated site's deity.1
