A fungal crawler looks like a giant, moldy cricket with a head swollen like the top of a mushroom. Its entire body is about three feet long. Its legs are barbed and each is tipped with a sharp talon. It has needle-like teeth and a pair of mandibles.1

Ecology

Fungal crawlers originate in the Darklands and feed on any dead, organic matter. Their teeth are hollow and inject an enzyme that digests flesh, and they leap to attack living prey. Their undersides are fluted like the underside of a mushroom and produce spores that grow into new fungal crawlers. These spores may be tracked out of a dungeon on adventurers' boots.1
