The Jackal Pharaoh of Osirion, known in modern records only as the Dog Pharaoh, was a pharaoh of ancient Osirion. His tomb was one of the landmarks taken by Hao Jin from Osirion's Sahure Wastes and stored in the Hao Jin Tapestry.1

Background

Modern records know the Jackal Pharaoh only as the Dog Pharaoh, the rival of another pharaoh known as the Illumined Pharaoh. The Jackal Pharaoh lost whatever struggle they engaged in, and the Illumined Pharaoh erased all records of the Jackal Pharaoh and replaced them with the derogatory moniker "Dog Pharaoh".2

Based on the results of a Pathfinder Society expedition to the Dog Pharaoh's Tomb in 4711 AR,3 the Jackal Pharaoh is believed to have led an army of kholo,4 jackalweres, and yaenits5 and was likely among the most powerful worshipers of Lamashtu during his time.67

The Jackal Pharaoh later died and was mummified and interred in his tomb, located in what is now known as Osirion's Sahure Wastes. The sorceress Hao Jin later moved the tomb from Golarion to her magical tapestry demiplane, where she kept it in a desert biome. As the tapestry disintegrated while in the possession of the Pathfinder Society, a river diverted to its location on the demiplane and flooded much of the tomb.1

Possessions

A religious symbol of Lamashtu, the same shape as the Jackal Pharaoh's Canid Carcanet amulet.

The Jackal Pharaoh wore a magical religious symbol of Lamashtu as an amulet made of bronze, copper, and onyx. The amulet, called the Canid Carcanet, granted its wearer a persistent connection to, and ability to speak with, canine animals, and also allowed them to transform temporarily into one.7
