Name

Paizo sources variously use the terms "mongrelmen" and "mongrelfolk" interchangeably, and a few also use the term "mongrels". Per James Jacobs], Paizo prefers the term "mongrelfolk":

Mongrel (if you're trying to be mean to them) or (preferably) mongrelfolk are the words we use for them. They don't really have a name for themselves as an ancestry, but might have individual names for their groups or families or clans or nations. But yeah, we've pretty much completely abandoned the out-of-date suffix of "-man" for all of our ancestries.
And no, it's not open for a public vote. ;-)

Potential legacy content

Mongrelmen were published in The Tome of Horrors Complete and designed for a different game. The mechanics for them were used in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game under the terms of the Open Game License. The Pathfinder Second Edition Remaster Project changed the license of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game to the Open RPG Creative license, and the canon existence or properties of mongrelfolk in the Pathfinder campaign setting after the Remaster are unknown. -Oznogon (talk) 14:16, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
