Rasp goblin
Goblin
Rasp goblins, also called Rasps, are the most common goblin ethnicity of the Inner Sea region. They are primarily concentrated along the Rasp of the Varisian Lost Coast but have spread to many of Varisia's surrounding nations.1
Appearance
Most Rasps have sickly green skin lighter than forest goblins'; gray and purple tones are less common. Most are barely 3 feet tall and weigh about 35 pounds.1
History
Rasps predate human settlement in western Varisia, and human incursions into their lands spurred many of the conflicts that inspired stories and legends of goblin violence, raiding, murder, and worship of Lamashtu that became stereotypes of not only Rasps but all goblins. However, they are not inherently bound to these tales or traditions and have successfully integrated with other cultures.1
Society
Rasps, like all goblins, enjoy song and fire, distrust writing, and hate dogs and horses.2 They live and spread in large numbers into any habitable space as tribes but resist most forms of structure or seniority, and their history of conflict leaves few elders to pass on traditions beyond songs of war and death.1
Rasp tribes include the formerly prominent Licktoad goblins, known for the exploits of a band of adventurers who vanished in 4718 AR, and the Mudchewer goblins of Magnimar, who were enslaved in 4710 AR and later freed by the Pathfinder Society to find at least some acceptance in their home city.3 With the Licktoad tribe's survivors absorbed by the Birdcruncher goblins4 and the fate of its legendary heroes unknown,56 as of 4719 AR the Mudchewers are the most well-known Rasp tribe.3
