Talk:Dyzad/Conflicts

From PathfinderWiki

In Inner Sea NPC Codex 25, Dyzad is described as a "god-creature". In The Worldwound, Dyzad is described as an eidolon.

They Watched the Stars more specifically identifies her as a water spirit and does not use the term "eidolon". Both terms are valid and are not in conflict with each other, but more specific terms consistent with more recent sources of the same or higher canon tier are used here. -Oznogon (talk) 09:56, 3 November 2024

Because of how sentences were structured in They Watched the Stars, Dyzad is referred to mostly a goddess or water spirit, along side four other unnamed entities by the revived power god calling were the misleading grammar implies only they are spirit guides while Dyzad is something separate, like on page 57. Only page 82 on "Scions of Domora", that it specifies Dyzad is a ancient spirit guide from the Plane of Water, not just a water spirit.--Stejo (talk) 16:08, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
I've reclassified this as an unresolvable canon conflict and moved the former footnote here, since the same source describes Dyzad in conflicting ways.
As of now, no subsequent canon source has clarified this further, including Divine Mysteries, which has a chapter on god callers and a list of deities; War of Immortals, which includes historical details about spirit guides; and Howl of the Wild, which expands the definition of spirit guides. -Oznogon (talk) 20:32, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
