Theological Debate [CONCLUDED]

We have not had one of these and they always go well: is the Eternal Emperor a god / deity or a philosophy? We have an Organization infobox and a deities template applied. I'd suggest a deity infobox too to be consistent, as this philosophy/religion may grant domains - do we have evidence of that? Perhaps we should have both infoboxes as both are relevant? --Fleanetha (talk) 10:38, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

He's worshiped as a god, but there's no indication he grants domains - all his clergy appear to be oracles. He might be a false god, though unlike Razmir it doesn't appear that there's a deception behind him, just a religion that grew around the concept of divine mandate. Also, the Azghat aren't actually gods, and they're listed in the infobox, though we could have the same debate about them as well.--Filby (talk) 16:02, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
I thought that using the organization template would be a good medium. It's not a traditional religion, since it doesn't grant spells and domains, but it's certainly organized like one. I didn't want to use the "deity" template, as that has many entries that would not apply. --Brandingopportunity (talk) 04:26, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
Seeing how this philosophy is detailed in Disciple's Doctrine (whose scope is about religions that don't follow a deity), I think it's safe to assume that the Eternal Emperor is not a being that can have clerics, and the deity navbox can be replaced with the philosophy navbox. - HTD (talk) 01:35, 9 June 2019 (UTC)

All very civilised then in the end. Perhaps we should have more theological debates then... --Fleanetha (talk) 19:39, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
