Formal name

Formal name is "Eagle Knights of the Golden Legion" so a redirect or comment is needed - see the refs mentioned. --Fleanetha (talk) 17:50, 13 April 2016 (UTC)

I've added redirects for each order, but neither of the sources I cited in this article use that formal title. Dagger of Truth and The Inner Sea World Guide both use the phrase "Eagle Knight of the Golden Legion" to explain what a Golden Legionnaire is, but not as a formal title for the branch. The Tier 1 ISWG is explicit about using that phrase to describe ranking members of a branch, not the branch itself:

Collectively, any ranking member of the order is known as an Eagle Knight, with the member’s respective branch added to his title for formal address. For instance, General Traxxus is an Eagle Knight of the Golden Legion.

If you have access to additional sources that use "Eagle Knights of the Golden Legion" as a formal title for the branch, please add them. -Oznogon (talk) 18:17, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
A quick check on my historic notes has my source for the formal name as:

Golden Legionnaires are members of the Eagle Knight branch known formally as Eagle Knights of the Golden Legion.

from Paths of Prestige p. 22. I think I see the problem in my reading: it's the Legionnaire and not the branch that has the formal name, as you say above, and it looks like that reading is much more clearly stated in other sources. Too late here now to think how best to deal with this, so will have a think tomorrow unless you want to tidy accordingly but I'd say we need:
  • formal name redirects to person so Golden Legionnaire not the Golden Legion page
  • a note on the pages to show the two forms of address
  • is this similar for the other branches of the EKs too? If so, match accordingly.
  • I noticed the cats need standardizing too but I think you may have accomplished this already.
Cheers
