Nature
In Core Rulebook for Pathfinder First Edition, the ironwood spell temporarily transforms wood into ironwood, and no other source of the material is described.
Later works describe naturally occurring ironwood123 and permanent ironwood with no description of magical permanence applied.4567
Barring a canon clarification, PathfinderWiki assumes temporary spell-created ironwood, permanent spell-created ironwood, and permanent naturally occurring ironwood can exist. However, no canon source denotes the difference between them nor describes ironwood's natural properties, leaving its permanence and nature in ambiguous conflict with the spell's description and mechanics. -Oznogon (talk) 05:51, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

Formatting
Some published sources, including Tide of Honor 15–16 and Bastards of Golarion 5, inconsistently italicize the material "ironwood" the same as the spell ironwood. Due in part to the above conflict, PathfinderWiki distinguishes between the material and the spell by italicizing only the latter. -Oznogon (talk) 05:51, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
