Yai the Red Mist is a notorious bandit chieftain in Shenmen known for raiding jorogumo tax caravans. Her title refers to local legends that suggest that when she slays her enemies they are turned into a bloody mist, and that she vanishes before the mist dissipates. Despite her seemingly ruthless nature, she is also known to fairly pay citizens of Shenmen who aid her.¹
