As of 4724 AR,1 Anastasia Nikolaevna is the fifteenth and current queen of Irrisen and the first non-winter witch to have held this office. She has adapted well to her new role as Irrisen's leader, despite hailing from a distant planet where magic is almost non-existent.2
Relatives
Anastasia was born on the distant world of Earth as the secret daughter of Empress Alexandra3 of the Russian Empire and Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin. She is the granddaughter of Baba Yaga through her father, and only her father knows the truth of Anastasia's parentage; historians of Earth record her as the legitimate daughter of Emperor Nicholas II,4 Alexandra's husband, and Anastasia herself only knew Rasputin as a "holy friend".5 As a member of the Russian imperial family, she is also known as Anastasia Romanova, Anastasia Romanov, or more fully as Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova.6
Background
In the Earth year of AD 1918, concurrent with the Absalom Reckoning year of 4713, Anastasia and her family were executed by Russia's new Bolshevik government. Rasputin then resurrected her from a lock of her hair to serve as a fail-safe in case he or his sister Elvanna failed in their plan to usurp their mother. He put Anastasia in a monastery within the Akuvskaya prison camp, from which she was later rescued by a band of adventurers from Golarion who sought to thwart Elvanna and Rasputin's plan.5
After these adventurers were successful, Baba Yaga accepted their request to crown Anastasia as Irrisen's new queen. The life of the common people of Irrisen now is no different than it has been for centuries, and many winter witches are resentful and regard her as the "Fraud Queen".2
