Arthropods are a type of animal often associated with vermin1 with a wide diversity of body plans and ecological niches. While similar to insects in that they have a chitinous exoskeleton and sectioned bodies, arthropods have a more variable number of legs, multiple visual and chemical sensory organs, and more varied reproductive methods.2

Arthropods with many legs are also known as myriapods.3 Arthropods with eight legs are also known as arachnids.4

On Golarion

Centipedes are common carrion-eating arthropods on Golarion, ranging from small creatures to gargantuan titan centipedes.5 Arachnids such as scorpions6 and spiders7 are also commonly encountered arthropods.

On distant worlds

Khefaks are crab-headed arthropods native to the planet Akiton.8
