Insects are a type of animal often associated with vermin1 with a wide diversity of body plans and ecological niches. All insects have a chitinous exoskeleton, six legs, and compound eyes.2

On Golarion

Mitflits have a strong connection to insects, and giant insects can often be found in mitflit lairs.3

Morlocks are known to employ mining beetles to burrow through underground obstacles though, due to the morlocks' carelessness, many beetles simply escape.4
