Ephreesia

From PathfinderWiki
The islet of Ephreesia, east of Valkus Isle.

For most of the last 1,000 years, the dragon Garaudhilyx has laired on an islet east of the Nexian prison-island of Valkus Isle. He refers to the islet as Ephreesia—derived from the Empyrean word for "lighthouse"—and from his lair he guards Valkus Isle, monitors and studies its imprisoned inhabitants for weaknesses to exploit, and shares his wisdom with visitors.1

Ephreesia is near a weak segment of the Stalwart Wall, the barrier that prevents creatures from leaving Valkus Isle, and Garaudhilyx has warded and trapped the weakness to alert him of any attempts to escape the island.2

Inhabitants

The island contains the ruins of a colonial settlement of Nex that has since become the lair of a pack of blink dogs. The lost settlement now serves as the surface marker to the entrance of Garaudhilyx, which the blink dogs help guard in exchange for food and protection. The pack is led by the ranger Rontu and sage Feryger.2
