Hellfire Compact

The Hellfire Compact is an oath sworn by loyalists to House Thrune to reaffirm their fealty to the Thrunes, diabolical Cheliax, and their lord. Queen Abrogail Thrune II mandated that all loyalists swear the Compact as a legally binding agreement in 4715 AR in response to the Glorious Reclamation and the rebellion they fostered.12
To swear the Compact, loyalists must touch a black crystal ember from Phlegethon that burns with hellfire and recite:2
“I swear my absolute allegiance to (their lord's name), Her Infernal Majestrix Queen Abrogail II of the Thrice-Damned House of Thrune, and the Empire of Cheliax.
”
The stone burns a scarring but temporary brand of the symbol of Cheliax into the loyalist's flesh.2
