Legacy content
The Pathfinder Second Edition Remaster Project renamed the Negative Energy Plane and Positive Energy Plane to Void and Creation's Forge, respectively, and renamed negative energy and positive energy to void energy and vitality energy, respectively.
It is unclear whether there are equivalent creature traits as existed prior to the Remaster. Monster Core has neither void nor vitality traits despite frequently referring to void and vitality energies. Player Core 463 refers to void and vitality traits as being for damage types or effects related to their planes or energies, and does not mention them being applied as a creature trait. GM Core applies the void and vitality traits to their planes and to magical item effects, but does not mention them being applied as a creature trait.
Archives of Nethys conflates the void/negative and vitality/positive traits as equivalent, but it is not a first-party primary source, and it remains unclear if this conflation will be supported by canon sources. The official Remaster FAQ does not suggest replacing negative traits on creatures with the void trait.
Pending more definitive clarification, negative and positive are flagged as legacy content and linked to Remastered replacements in void and vitality. If clarification or future works more clearly designate them as fully equivalent concepts, those articles should be merged. -Oznogon (talk) 21:22, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
