Living separate from the centers of elven culture on Castrovel, the Oatia instead inhabit the jungle continent of Ukulam to watch the stars in isolated peace.1 They are renowned astronomers with a strong community of intellectuals2 and a fervent faith in Desna.3

Culture

The Oatia eschew physical strength in favor of spellcasting.4 Oatia honor their dead by providing their heads to the caulborn of the nearby Memory Cache, or Grove of Memory, where their likenesses and memories are peacefully preserved without binding their souls from the afterlife.5

Oatia dedicated to the pursuit of astronomical knowledge are also known as skysages.6

Locations

The most populated city on Ukulam is the Oatia city of Loskialua. It was deliberately built near the caulborn Grove of Memory,7 and as of 4723 AR it had recently expanded due to the creation of floating gondolas to help transport building materials.1 Their goal was to convert a small shrine to Desna into a temple complex and observatory atop the nearby Alhuenar Spire.3
