Demon bone tiles are a type of spell catalyst originally developed by Zenda Modic, assistant professor of osteology at the Synostosis Academy in Yled, Geb.

The tiles are made of bone fragments from specific varieties of demons—either a pusk, a brimorak, or a seraptis, in ascending order of potency. To use the tiles, a spellcaster must crush them and blow the bone dust into the air as they cast the shield cantrip. This causes the shield's appearance to resemble a bone bulwark in the shape of the face of the demon species from which it was produced. If the caster uses the shield to block damage, it shatters, and the bone shards cause bleeding wounds as they lodge into the attacker.1
