Talk:Shelyn

From PathfinderWiki

Cleanup (resolved)

This is (minorly) formatted verbatim copy/paste job from Mike McArtor's notes on Shelyn from the messageboards. Not only does it need a once over for formatting continuity with other deity articles, but we need to put sources wherever any of this information can be verified within canon and delete any casual phrasing that makes the article seem more conversational than academic. -- Yoda8myhead 01:32, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Updated biography for canonical information, wasn't sure if Mike McArtor's article should be removed completely, marked as non-canonical or left as-is.Crimsonknight 01:17, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
It's a good question. At the time Mike wrote his long messageboard post about Shelyn, he was still an editor at Paizo, so whatever he wrote most likely came from whatever internal reference material they have on the world. He also claimed to have been the one to come up with her in the first place, so he might be the one SKR or anyone else goes to for questions regarding her story. That said, the material he posted isn't technically canon, so its presence here is debatable. I think that we should cross-check it for major discrepancies with canon and if it looks like there's quite a bit of it, remove content from the page attributed to his post. If not, leave it up until it becomes a problem. I'd rather have a larger page than a stub, in any case, though we do need to keep in mind the reputation of the site first and foremost. -- Yoda8myhead 03:34, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
I agree, if it is against published canon, take it out, but if it meshes seamlessly with published things and we can credit it, than for all intensive purposes it's pre-published cannon, direct from an editor, while this could be changed later, it is treated as cannon by the community at large Cpt kirstov 01:47, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Citation (resolved)

I don't know how to do "citation needed", but at the end there is something like nine paragraphs without a source. --Amethal2 23:42, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

To add that text, just transclude {{Source}} where you want the "citation needed" link to appear. —Yoda8myhead 04:31, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
It looks like most of the citation needed locations are taken almost verbatim from This post... I'm at work so can't go through and compare/create refs - Cpt kirstov (talk) 14:59, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
Cited passages lifted from the messageboards post. -Oznogon (talk) 21:41, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

Plagiarism (resolved)

Flagged because many paragraphs citing Mike McArtor's 2007 forums post copy its content verbatim or with very small changes. Considering the above discussions, much of the content still hasn't been published since then in a higher-tier canon source in order to re-cite it. -Oznogon (talk) 21:40, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
