Tornado
A tornado is a violent, rotating column of air that is in contact with both the ground and a dark storm cloud and leaves destruction in its path.1 They are rightfully feared throughout the Inner Sea region, particularly in the large, open plains of southern Andoran, Cheliax, and Taldor, and along the Obari Ocean coast of Garund.2
In northern Garund, tornadoes often form near the front of an advancing sandstorm.2 Among the Shoanti of Varisia, tornadoes are known as yayoncha, while the orcs of neighboring Belkzen believe them to be a sign of the apocalypse.3
Tornadoes that formed in the Worldwound before its closure seemed to possess an evil intelligence, targeting structures with remarkable accuracy.4 Disturbing stories a that these latter, malevolent storms can be filled with millions of venomous insects that seem to be unaffected by the high winds.2
