Anglerfish are fish that use bioluminescent lures attached to their foreheads to attract prey. They are sometimes used as animal companions by aquatic creatures.1
Anglerfish-like creatures
The godling Danglosa, who claims to be a demigod,2 is a gigantic, intelligent anglerfish. She helps rule the semi-aquatic settlement of Outsea in the River Kingdoms.32
The nearly 35-mile-long anglerfish known as Lure swims a regular circuit in the Plane of Water. The port town City-on-Lure is located on the fish's back.4
