Stag beetle
Stag beetles are beetles with large and distinctive mandibles found on the males of most species, which resemble the antlers of stags1 and are used to impress prospective mates, deter rivals and predators, and defend itself if necessary.23
Giant stag beetle
A giant stag beetle is a horse-sized stag beetle. Like their smaller versions, they can fly, if clumsily. They often reside in marshes, caverns, and forests, where they occasionally come into conflict with logging camps.23
Chapel beetles are giant stag beetles trained to serve as holy mounts for Droskar-worshiping hryngars4 in the Darklands. These beetles carry priests of Droskar and are often inscribed with the deity's symbol, allowing the priest to use them as living religious symbols for channeling their god's power.5
