The Embermaw clan is a kobold tribe that dwells beneath the surface where the Cinderlands meet the Mindspin Mountains. The Embermaw Clan are expansionists, slowly building out their territory and mining resources out from beneath the feet of the Cinderlands' other residents.

The clan lairs above the Flume Warrens, between the Sekamina layer of the Darklands and the surface, which often draws them into conflicts with the munsahirs and salamanders who dwell below them. This includes a proxy war between powerful fire giants of the Flame Warrens and the clan's patron red dragon Tsazgatherax, whose eggs the kobolds are entrusted with defending. The giants are too fearful to contest the dragon directly, and the munsahirs and salamanders attack only at the giants' behest.

Appearance

Kobolds of the Embermaw clan bear red scales but are uniquely broad-shouldered and muscular by kobold standards.
