The Stonescales were a tribe of kobolds that briefly colonized the abandoned village of Otari in 4300 AR.

History

Following the death of the last Roseguard Aesephna Menhemes in 4290 AR, Otari's small population of fewer than a hundred residents soon relocated elsewhere. The village lay abandoned until the Stonescales took over in 4300 AR, connecting the buildings with a vast tunnel network called the Stonescale warrens. While many of the tunnels are now collapsed or flooded, smugglers and thieves from the Osprey Club still use some of them today.

The Stonescale reign lasted until 4310 AR when tribe leader Yarlaip inadvertently caused the destruction of his group by luring passing ships to the abandoned village; ambushing sailors and stealing their cargo. This soon brought new adventurers to Otari to dispose of the tribe, backed by Aesephna's granddaughter, Maklanni Menhemes.
